Job Description
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Analytics Developer, You Will
• Design, develop, and maintain data models, dashboards, reports, automation systems, and performance metrics to enable informed decision-making across the business.
• Stay proactive in evaluating data trends to help guide business partners on emerging opportunities.
• Ensure accurate and consistent data reporting by writing efficient analytics code and implementing data controls in line with policies, procedures, and standards.
• Manage time-sensitive tasks, ensuring deadlines are consistently met through a proactive approach.
Power BI Report Development
• Design and create dashboards and reporting systems that deliver a consistent, intuitive analytics experience for business users.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into a robust BI model that turns raw data into valuable insights.
• Convert business needs into technical specifications and implement them through actionable reports to inform decision-making.
• Execute DAX queries and functions to enhance Power BI reports.
Data Extraction & Ad-Hoc Reporting
• Partner with business teams to collect requirements, identify data sources, and transform data using SQL and/or SAS for use in Power BI dashboards or other systems.
• Lead ad-hoc data analysis efforts, providing insights on trends, client behavior, system performance, or any other non-recurring reporting needs.
• Develop customized visualizations and user-defined calculations when necessary.
• Design, implement, and optimize business intelligence solutions through SQL queries, filters, and graphs to uncover insights and suggest performance improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in a related field, with additional coursework or training in computer science, management information systems, or mathematics/statistics.
• A strong understanding of the retail banking industry.
• Over 5 years of experience in banking and finance.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with SQL, SAS, R, Python, or similar querying languages.
• 3-5 years of experience creating analytics reports and dashboards, with a preference for experience using Power BI.
• 3-5 years of experience working with and generating data extracts.
• 3+ years of experience in data visualization.
• Familiarity with integrating multiple components of the Microsoft BI Stack, with a focus on Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Azure services.
• Experience with both on-premise SQL servers and cloud-based platforms such as Azure Databricks.
• Proven ability to use analytics to drive company growth, boost revenue, and achieve other key business outcomes.
• Knowledge of industry-leading analytics practices.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with agile project management methodologies is a plus.
• A client-centered approach to working with business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to engage with C-level executives and present data, reports, and insights effectively.
• Solid knowledge of banking systems and tools (e.g., MeridianLink/LoansPQ, Encompass, Velocify, Fiserv Signature, Marquis Executrax MCIF) is preferred.
