

Data Analyst
Position Location: Midland Area
Midland Office: Midland, Texas 79705
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, hybrid/onsite
12 month contract
We are looking for a skilled Data Analyst to join our team and support small to medium-sized IT projects. This hybrid/onsite position is within the Data Services team of the IT and Business Intelligence Division. The chosen candidate will be responsible for organizing, processing, and reporting data for various business units using a range of data tools. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with databases, ensuring data accuracy and quality while enhancing processes to make the data more useful for our business teams.
Key responsibilities include:
• Extracting data from primary and secondary sources using automated tools, performing quality audits on data sources and automated reports.
• Identifying and correcting corrupted data and resolving coding issues in databases.
• Developing and maintaining databases and data systems, restructuring data into readable formats.
• Analyzing data quality and relevance, collaborating with subject matter experts to enhance databases and data warehouses for improved efficiency.
• Reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and address coding issues, enhancing existing reporting systems for business value.
• Assisting in resolving challenges related to data quality, lineage, and master data management (MDMS).
• Collaborating with programmers, engineers, and management to identify process improvements and propose system modifications, working with the data governance team.
• Creating and maintaining dashboards to monitor data quality and key business metrics.

• Ability to gather technical requirements and document client needs using appropriate methods and tools.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with business partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to manage multiple projects and drive progress.
• Expertise in SQL and non-SQL database management tools such as MS SQL Server Management Studios, MySQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools is a plus.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a data analyst or in a related role, with proficiency in analytical software and database management.
• Expertise in statistics, data analysis, and research methods.
• Strong decision-making, customer service, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, project management, and strategic thinking skills.
• Knowledge of Project Management principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI).
• Experience with transactional databases and accounting.
• Oil & Gas industry experience is a plus.
