Are you passionate about leveraging computational biology to drive precision medicine and clinical biomarker discovery? Join our Biotech customer's Computational Biology group within the Center for Technology and Innovation (CfTI) as they work to revolutionize treatments for autoimmune diseases.
🔬 Role Overview:
Our customer is seeking a highly motivated Computational Biologist with expertise in clinical bioinformatics, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and biomarker development. This role will focus on supporting clinical biomarker applications within client’s autoimmune disease portfolio, working closely with cross-functional teams to analyze complex multi-omics data and inform critical drug development decisions.
Role: Scientist Senior / Computational Biologist
📍 Location: South San Francisco, CA (Hybrid – 1+ day per week onsite, onsite requirements may vary)
📅 Duration: 1 year (03/03/2025 – 03/02/2026) with a possibility of extension
💰 Pay rate: $45 - $50 per hour (W2)
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Support biomarker development in autoimmune disease clinical trials by designing and executing data analysis plans
✅ Conduct statistical analyses on biomarker data from diverse assay platforms (e.g., flow cytometry, immunoassays, RNAseq, proteomics)
✅ Develop and apply computational methods to analyze large-scale, high-dimensional omics data
✅ Generate high-quality visualizations and actionable insights for biologists and medical scientists
✅ Integrate public datasets to enhance drug mechanism-of-action (MoA) understanding and refine biomarker strategies
Must-Have Skills:
🔹 Hands-on experience with bioinformatics and statistics for large-scale multi-omics data analysis (flow cytometry, DNA/RNA sequencing, proteomics)
🔹 Strong R and/or Python programming skills for complex statistical analysis and visualization
🔹 Familiarity with clinical biomarker platforms (IHC, flow cytometry, immunoassay, qPCR, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
🎓 PhD or MS in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, Biology, or related fields
🧬 Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry (3+ years)
📊 Knowledge of statistical/machine learning techniques for clinical biomarker applications
🩺 Understanding of autoimmune diseases (e.g., lupus, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, RA, IBD)
🗣️ Excellent communication skills with a passion for science and technology
