Job Summary
We are representing a leading company in the financial services industry looking to grow by adding a Sr Cloud Engineer to their team! You will be helping lead large-scale Java application development within Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will drive cloud-native solutions across backend and frontend systems, influencing architecture and engineering best practices for enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design, build, testing, and deployment of scalable Java applications using GCP.
• Architect complex backend services and frontend components (Angular 12+).
• Guide technical direction and ensure code quality through design reviews and code standards.
• Champion Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, and QA.
• Mentor junior engineers, promote best practices, and drive process improvements.
• Integrate cloud-native services, automate infrastructure using tools like Terraform, and manage containerized deployments in Kubernetes.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of Java/J2EE development experience, including Spring Boot and Microservices.
• 5+ years of frontend development with Angular (12+).
• Strong experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Rest Assured, Cucumber, Appium).
• 5+ years working with public cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proven success in implementing REST/SOAP APIs, and scalable systems.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bamboo), version control (Git), and build tools (Maven, Gradle).
• Strong understanding of design patterns, agile methodologies, and container orchestration using Docker/Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (SonarQube, Fortify, Checkmarx).
• Experience developing high-performance systems in an agile, fast-paced setting.
• Strong object-oriented design and troubleshooting skills.
• Previous leadership or mentorship experience in software engineering teams.
• Solid understanding of security and compliance in cloud-based architectures.
