Business Intelligence Developer

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data & Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. This critical role will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights, empowering data-driven decision-making, and enhancing the user experience. The ideal candidate possesses 5-10 years of experience in data modeling, back-end development, and creating impactful visualizations. A strong background in finance, particularly within private equity or investment management, is highly desired.

Responsibilities:
• BI Development, Data Modeling, and Azure Integration: Design, develop, and maintain user-centric BI applications, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Build and optimize data models, ETL processes, and back-end data loads, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Leverage Azure data platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics) for efficient data integration, processing, and storage.
• Integrate and manage data from diverse sources, including financial systems and operational platforms, using APIs, connectors, and file ingestion.
• Proactively analyze and troubleshoot data anomalies, identifying outliers, inconsistencies, and areas needing normalization. Conduct deep-dive investigations, validate data across sources, and develop automated data quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaboration, Insights Delivery, and Continuous Improvement: Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, deliver actionable insights, and align solutions with strategic goals.
• Utilize usage metrics and feedback to continuously improve BI tools, ensuring solutions meet evolving user and business requirements.
• Operate within a continuous deployment (CD) software development lifecycle to test, deploy, and update solutions efficiently.
• Domain Expertise and Financial Insights:Apply your expertise in private equity or investment management to develop BI solutions tailored to financial operations and reporting.
• Provide accurate and timely reporting and analysis to support portfolio management and operational decision-making.

Qualifications:
• 5-10 years of experience in BI development. Qlik Sense experience is a plus.
• Strong background in data modeling, ETL processes, and back-end development.
• Proven ability to design and implement intuitive and effective data visualizations.
• Proficiency working with large, complex datasets.
• Required experience with Azure data platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics) and data ingestion from 3rd party operational systems via API, connectors, or files.
• Experience working in a continuous deployment (CD) environment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A passion for end-user experience, clear insights, and data-driven decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to use usage metrics and feedback loops for continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with financial systems, CRM, and/or portfolio management platforms.
• Solid understanding of finance, particularly private equity or investment management.
• Experience with additional BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
