Business Analyst

Vaco San Antonio is seeking a highly skilled Interim Business Data Analyst to support our client through December 2025. This role is ideal for an analytical professional with expertise in SAS, SQL, and Excel, strong process improvement skills, and a deep understanding of loan applications, credit, and financial performance data. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders to extract, validate, and analyze data to drive business decisions and optimize financial processes.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze non-IT business problems and articulate requirements to support process improvement opportunities.
• Identify alternative solutions and make recommendations to improve financial and operational processes.
• Prepare documentation of current and desired state for process improvements.
• Develop requirements and establish a common understanding between process owners and solution developers.
• Extract, aggregate, and validate data from multiple sources for reporting and decision-making.
• Create frameworks to assess financial impacts of business changes and operational decisions.
• Execute reporting, data validation, and process execution to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Work with technical stakeholders to deploy dashboards and automation solutions for business insights.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support business needs and strategic initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience coding in a SAS/SQL environment, including:
• Extracting, aggregating, and validating data from multiple sources.
• Manipulating data for analysis and reporting.
• 5+ years of experience analyzing loan application, credit, and financial performance data to support business decision-making.
• 5+ years of experience in translating business needs into technical requirements and communicating findings effectively.

Technology & Tools
• Must-have: Proficiency in SAS, SQL, and Excel.
• Experience in data extraction, transformation, and reporting using the above tools.
