Akkodis is seeking an Algorithm Developer for one of our clients located in Warren, Michigan.

Rate Range: $50.00/hour to $55.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

This is an exciting project and provides the opportunity to work in an advanced environment.

A PhD or Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field is required for this role.

Please note that this role is on-site.

What you will do:
• Work on developing algorithms related to cloud mapping for manufacturing robots.
• Define data structures for sensors, floor maps, semantics maps, etc.
• Build out algorithms for map creation, serialization/deserialization of map data, coordinate system conversion, communication between robots and cloud, etc.
• Develop visualization, UI, and analysis tools for map management.
• Design and develop robot swarming algorithms.
• Design and develop map update algorithms.
• Work on and validate system integrations.
• Handle documentation, testing, and reporting.
• Perform demonstrations for leadership, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Your Background:
• A few years of experience in on-the-job algorithm development (ie, computer vision engineering, etc).
• A Masters degree or PhD in computer science, mathematics, or related field is required for this role.
• Strong communication skills.
• Hands-on knowledge with Python scripting is a must.
• Good knowledge in data science.
• PhD research may be considered in lieu of on-the-job experience.
