

Actuarial Data Scientist
A large Property and Casualty insurance company is seeking a Sr Data Scientist to join the Data Analytics group supporting multiple underwriting and actuarial teams. The top priority of this Sr Data Scientist is to develop predictive models to assess risks and loss probabilities, enabling effective underwriting decisions and pricing strategies. They will also be utilizing Machine Learning algorithms and statistical methods to analyze insurance trends, customer behaviors and market dynamics. From there, they are creating visualizations, dashboards, and slide decks to effectively communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Other Responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with cross functional teams, including Actuaries, Underwriters, Product Managers to identify and define data science initiatives aligned with BRSS business goals and strategy.
• Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and provide intuitive solutions to what happened, when, where and why, using data to enhance customer retention and profitable growth.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Collaborate with data engineers to develop data pipelines and integrate data sources ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Build platforms and applications to accelerate data science operations including Model Monitoring and improve process efficiencies of business workflows.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in data science and insurance analytics.
Must Have Requirements:
• Experience as an Actuary or 4+ years as Data Scientist
• Property & Casualty (Commercial or Personal) Insurance experience
• Experience building pricing models and putting them into production in the insurance industry
• Programming experience with Python, R, & SQL
• Master’s degree in either Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science or equivalent quantitative discipline

• Experience with Azure Cloud
$50/hr to $70/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
