Accounting & Finance Technical Business Analyst

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to join our team in the Broker-Dealer Back Office, with a focus on technical business analysis to support accounting and finance functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, P&L, and balance sheet analysis, as well as experience with accounting configuration for various products, such as fixed income, equity, repo, tri-party, derivatives, and secondary loan trading. This contract position will primarily focus on providing technical assistance and business analysis to support the development of a greenfield project, building an accounting engine and subledger solution that can simplify our finance architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting and Finance Expertise:
   • Provide technical assistance and business analysis to support the development of an accounting engine and subledger solution.
   • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement accounting treatments/configurations for various products, including fixed income, equity, repo, and tri-party.
   • Develop and maintain technical documentation to support system configurations and business processes.

2. Technical Support:
   • Provide technical assistance to accounting and product control teams to resolve system-related issues, including trade capture errors, position discrepancies, and system integration problems.
   • Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot, resolve technical issues, and implement system enhancements.

3. Business Analysis:
   • Author and/or analyze business requirements and develop technical solutions to support accounting and finance functions.
   • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and develop technical specifications.
   • Develop and maintain business process documentation to support accounting and finance functions.

4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
   • Design reports to support accounting and finance functions, including P&L analysis, balance sheet analysis, and drill-down reporting for deep analytics and insights.
   • Analyze data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for process improvement.

5. Process Improvement:
   • Identify areas for process improvement and develop technical solutions to support business efficiency and effectiveness.
   • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement process changes and monitor results.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, focusing on technical business analysis.
• Strong background in accounting, P&L, and balance sheet analysis.
• Experience with accounting treatments/configuration for various products, including fixed income, equity, repo, and tri-party.
• Experience with building and implementing accounting engines and subledger solutions such as Oracle OFSAA and/or Oracle Accounting Hub, Aptitude AAH, SAP Accounting Rules Engine, or equivalent
• Strong understanding of technical systems, business processes, and analytical skills.
• Experience with the following systems and tools:

• Broadridge (BPSA, IMPACT A)

• S&P Global (WSO, ClearPar)

  • Experience with accounting hubs such as Oracle ofsaa, Apitude or Fynapse

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of accounting or a related field.
• Experience with greenfield projects and building accounting engines and subledger solutions from scratch.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance procedures.
• Experience with agile methodologies and future-ready technologies.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
