Job Title: Tableau Cloud SME

Location: Remote

Duration: 3+ months contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Tableau Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) with hands-on experience in migrating Tableau Server from AWS to Tableau Cloud. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Tableau administration, cloud migration strategies, and performance optimization. This role involves leading the migration efforts, ensuring seamless data connectivity, optimizing dashboards for Tableau Cloud, and implementing best practices for governance and security.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the end-to-end migration of Tableau Server from AWS to Tableau Cloud, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Assess the existing Tableau Server architecture, data sources, and dependencies to develop a migration strategy.
• Work closely with cloud engineers, database administrators, and BI teams to ensure smooth data transitions and connectivity post-migration.
• Optimize Tableau Cloud performance, including data extracts, live connections, and dashboard performance tuning.
• Implement best practices for governance, security, access control, and compliance in Tableau Cloud.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to migration, authentication, data refreshes, and user access.
• Train and support end users and analysts in Tableau Cloud functionalities and new workflows.
• Document migration processes, configuration changes, and best practices for future reference.
• Stay updated with Tableau Cloud enhancements, licensing models, and integration options to provide recommendations for continuous improvements.

Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience with Tableau Server administration, deployment, and migration projects.
• Proven expertise in migrating Tableau from AWS to Tableau Cloud, including data migration, security setup, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, etc.) and their impact on Tableau deployments.
• Experience working with Tableau Bridge, live connections, extracts, and cloud data sources.
• Solid understanding of identity management and authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, Okta, AD, etc.).
• Familiarity with SQL, ETL processes, and database connectivity (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Tableau Certified Associate or Certified Professional certification.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, etc.).
• Scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and administration.
