A global biotechnology leader, is seeking a Study Lead Statistician (SLS) to join their team and play a critical role in leading statistical activities for clinical studies. If you’re passionate about applying your statistical expertise to impactful clinical research, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of medicine in a 100% remote role.
Role: Study Lead Statistician – Product Facing
Location: Remote (US-based, ET or PT hours)
Duration: 1 year (possibility of extension)
Compensation: $90 - $110 per hour (W2)
Role Overview
As a Study Lead Statistician, you will provide statistical leadership for clinical studies, ensuring proper study design, statistical integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will work closely with the Global Statistical Lead, Study Statistician, and other cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality execution of clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Provide statistical guidance and review for protocols, SAPs, TFL shells, DMC charters, and key study documents
✅ Collaborate in clinical study team meetings and contribute to study start-up activities
✅ Lead statistical analysis, including QC of ADaM datasets and key endpoints
✅ Drive data-driven modeling and review statistical deliverables for accuracy
✅ Support dose-level review meetings and regulatory submissions
✅ Ensure timely delivery of statistical reports and clinical study outputs
✅ Work cross-functionally with programmers, clinical data managers, and medical writers
✅ Ensure compliance with policies, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines

✅ Clinical trial execution
✅ Statistical analysis
✅ Project management
Must-Have Qualifications:
✔ Master’s degree in Statistics/Biostatistics or a related field with 4+ years of experience (or PhD with 3+ years) in the pharmaceutical industry/medical research
✔ Strong statistical knowledge related to clinical trial design and execution
✔ Experience leading statistical aspects of multiple clinical trials
✔ Strong SAS and/or R programming skills for statistical modeling and simulations
✔ Ability to communicate statistical information clearly and concisely
✔ Experience developing protocols, SAPs, and clinical study reports (CSRs)
Preferred Qualifications:
⭐ PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics with 5+ years of post-graduate experience
⭐ Experience leading 3+ clinical studies from design to completion
⭐ Hands-on experience with Bayesian statistics and adaptive clinical trials
⭐ Lifecycle drug development expertise (pre-clinical to post-marketing)
⭐ Strong ability to present and defend statistical findings in internal/external meetings
⭐ Experience in influencing decision-making in cross-functional teams
Red Flags:
❌ Lack of statistical experience in clinical trials
