Red Vector Support Engineer – IT Sr Software Support Engineer

Red Vector is looking for an experienced Sr support engineer with a track record of success to join our Product Engineering Team. We’re looking for someone passionate about supporting enterprise class on-premises & cloud-based security solutions. Leading the evangelization of solutions internally and externally. This role requires experience supporting highly scalable system client and server-side technologies.

What it will take to succeed:
• Remote (primarily) and possibly on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of software platform issues for our clients, along with recommendations and implementations of corrective solutions;
• Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot software platforms, databases, operating system, cloud environments and related hardware / virtual machine issues;
• Develop internal documentation and communicate problems and issues to support lead, management, and development teams
• Work with client IT teams and /or outside vendors when appropriate to resolve hardware, software and network issues
• Participate in deployment planning and capacity planning and deployment processes
• Establishing planned maintenance schedules
• Escalation management and peer training
• Developing and conducting product training
• Able to work independently, seek help when needed, and complete project as per guidelines.
• Keeps current with industry standard practices and procedures
• Work in close collaboration with clients and remote team members to ensure effective delivery of support with maximum system and service level uptimes
• Quick learner that can understand and apply existing and new technologies;

Your skillset:
• Must be customer focused
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Excellent understanding of IT network and server technologies;
• 5+ years of experience installing, troubleshooting, supporting software platforms, databases, and Linux operating systems
• Knowledge in debugging Python, shell scripts (Bash)
• Advance knowledge in IAM configuration (LDAP, Entra ID, Okta, etc.)
• Understanding of TLS certificates and certificate distribution and usage
• Knowledge of Python and various scripting languages (e.g. Bash)
• Advance knowledge in maintaining and debugging private / public cloud virtual environments (VMWare, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud);
• Advance knowledge with Docker and other container services
• Knowledge in maintaining big data technologies (Hadoop, Flink, HBase, others)
• Understanding of API and data integration
• Good understanding of system patching and reading system / application logs
• Great analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills
• Advance knowledge in monitoring tools
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as oral and written skills
