Focus:

   • Manage installation, configuration, and upgrades of SQL Server database systems and associated tools.

   • Continuously monitor database performance, availability, and system health, taking a proactive approach to identify and resolve issues.

   • Perform routine maintenance activities such as backups, restores, and tuning for optimal performance.

   • Collaborate with internal teams to design, implement, and enhance data models and database architecture.

   • Maintain comprehensive documentation on database structures, configurations, processes, and standards.

   • Administer and enforce data security measures and access controls in alignment with corporate compliance requirements.

   • Assist in the development and execution of robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

   • Troubleshoot database-related issues, providing timely and effective support to internal stakeholders.

   • Proactively propose and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency, security, and scalability.

   • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, best practices, and industry standards to continuously drive innovation.

   • Support other projects and database initiatives as assigned.

Skill Set:

   • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline – or equivalent practical experience.

   • Proficient with T-SQL and database query optimization.

   • Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Azure Data Studio, and SSIS packages.

   • Experience scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting SQL Agent Jobs.

   • Solid understanding of backup/restore strategies and disaster recovery concepts.

   • Understanding of database design principles and data modeling.

   • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Database Administrator Associate, or Data Analyst Associate (Preferred)

Bonus Skills:

   • Knowledge of Power BI for data visualization.

   • Exposure to data warehousing concepts and platforms like Snowflake or Redshift.

   • Programming knowledge in TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.

   • Familiarity with open-source RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
