Azure SQL Database Developer (100% Remote)
Great opportunity for a Sr. Azure SQL DB Developer in a long-term, fully remote contract!
In this role, you will help to design, develop, implement, and optimize a new Operational SQL database in an Azure environment. This database supports both internal & external websites/systems. You will translate physical data models into database structures including tables, stored procedures, indexes, & full-text capabilities. You will be responsible for establishing automated processes for unit testing & data quality validation. Additionally, you will ensure database performance & scalability to meet operational needs. You will collaborate in a DevOps environment using GitHub Actions for CI/CD deployments.
This is an initial 6-month initial contract (high likelihood of longer-term extensions).
You can work 100% remotely within the U.S. You must work EST hours.

REQUIRED:
• 7+ years of SQL Server development (T-SQL, stored procs, views, indexes, triggers)
• 2+ years of Azure SQL development
• 1+ years with GitHub Actions (or similar) for CI/CD deployments
• Strong SQL query tuning, performance optimization, & process automation
• Experience building operational DB's for external-facing platforms/sites
• Experience setting up proactive monitoring of SQL environment issues to enable notifications
PREFERRED:
• Setting up automated processes to monitor data quality in SQL databases
• Azure AI Search integration with SQL databases
• Building & automating SQL unit tests
• Experience leveraging AI tools like GitHub Copilot to improve productivity
• Experience using Postman to test & interact with APIs
• Experience with Microsoft Data API Builder
• Experience with ERwin Data Modeling tool
