Non-Negotiable Tech:
• Advanced SQL proficiency, including query optimization
• Significant experience in database design and management
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions and services (e.g., Azure SQL)
• expertise with relational databases (e.g., MS SQL)
• Managing SQL backups, database integrity, and performance optimization.
• Automation of routine daily checks/tasks.
Desirable Tech:
• Knowledge of Excel for input/output data handling
• Familiarity with Azure Data Warehousing or Azure Fabric for BI reporting.
• Exposure to non-relational databases.
Our client is a HealthTech that works with the NHS, whose mission is to help patients get better faster. They use innovative technology to support patient care, which leads to shorter waiting times, increased consultant capacity and reduced costs. They employ over 100 people in the UK, and they‘re looking for a Senior.NET engineer to improve the processes, procedures and strategy of the SDLC they currently have in place.
Whilst the business is headquartered in London, this is a fully remote role allowing you to work from anywhere in the UK.
What You Will Do:
• Provide database support to developers, analysts, and testers.
• Review and deploy Database SQL Git Pull Requests to production environments.
• Evaluate and enhance database design for improved performance and maintainability.
• Ensure database integrity, security, and reliability through proactive management.
• Maintain and manage SQL databases, including SQL jobs and data changes in production.
• Optimize SQL performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement performance improvements.
• Manage database builds, rollouts, and define SQL standards and deployment processes.
• Automate routine daily checks and tasks to improve operational efficiency.
• Oversee SQL backups and Azure SQL server auto-scaling.
• Implement changes to enhance data security and compliance.
What You Will Bring:
• Extensive experience in database design, management, and optimization.
• Proficiency in advanced SQL and query optimization techniques.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes and monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of both relational and non-relational database systems.
• Expertise in cloud-based database solutions and services, particularly Azure.
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary, cross-functional team.
• Strong time management, planning, and prioritization skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
• Adherence to ethical standards and a commitment to safeguarding the confidentiality and privacy of sensitive data.
• Bonus skills include Excel knowledge, and familiarity with Azure Data Warehousing or Azure Fabric for BI reporting needs.
