Job Summary –

Looking for a SQL Server DBA with 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server administration, migration, and performance tuning.

Job Description:

· Strong expertise in SQL Server 2008,2008R2,2012 or later with hands-on experience with SQL Server administration, migration, and performance tuning.

· Plan and execute SQL Server migrations from AWS and on-prem environments to on-prem data centres.

· Assess database environments to determine optimal migration approaches (backup/restore, replication, log shipping, etc.).

· Perform pre-migration analysis, compatibility checks, and performance benchmarking.

· Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions for on-prem SQL Server environments.

· Troubleshoot and optimize database performance post-migration to ensure minimal downtime and improved efficiency.

· Work closely with infrastructure, network, and application teams to ensure a smooth transition.

· Automate migration tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL scripts, and third-party tools where applicable.

· Validate data integrity and completeness after migration.

· Maintain documentation on migration strategies, rollback plans, and best practices.

· Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.

Technical Skills:

· 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server administration, migration, and performance tuning.

· Strong expertise in SQL Server 2008,2008R2,2012 or later.

· Experience migrating databases from AWS RDS/EC2 SQL Server and on-prem to on-prem environments.

· Proficiency in migration techniques: backup/restore, log shipping, transactional replication, and Always On Availability Groups.

· Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their impact on database architecture.

· Knowledge of networking, security, and storage concepts in database migrations.

· Proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell, and automation scripting.

· Experience in troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and optimizing queries.

· Familiarity with monitoring tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and Performance Monitor.

· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
