Senior Python Developer

Salary: £600-650 per day (outside IR35)

Job Type: Contract (Initial 6 months)

Hybrid Model: 3 days a week onsite

Location: City of London

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a small team of Python developers
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Python-based applications for loan processing and risk assessment
• Build and manage scalable RESTful API's and microservices
• Manage and optimise relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases
• Work with large datasets for credit risk modelling, fraud detection and automation
• Ensure compliance with financial security and regulatory standards
• Deploy applications on Azure using CI/CD pipelines

Requirements
• Strong experience with Python Development (5+ years ideally, financial service or similar)
• Help to lead the design and build of Python frameworks that support loan calculations and analysis, generation of invoices/notices
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL databases
• Solid understanding of data processing and financial algorithms
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in API development and third party applications
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and optimise code for performance
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards

Desirable
• Experience with (React, Vue, Angular) for full-stack capabilities
• Knowledge of machine learning or AI for risk assessment and fraud detection
