Interim Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist
Location: London, hybrid working (1-2dpw onsite)
Length: 6 months (Possibility of extension)

As Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist the postholder will lead and advise public health intelligence to embed an insight-informed decision-making culture and enable Place-based Partnerships within the borough to improve population health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist:
• Lead and advise public health intelligence to embed an insight – informed decision-making culture and enable Place-based Partnership to improve population health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities
• Prioritise resource and activity effectively based upon most up to date data on population health needs and high-quality public health intelligence and analytical advice
• Decide policy, strategy and action that is informed by the health and wellbeing needs and inequalities of the population and the opportunities to improve population health
• Assure the public health intelligence team deliver on timely collating and processing of data returns for national government that meet quality standards. (e.g., NHS Health Checks, National Child Measurement Programme)
• Develop and appropriately use population health management approaches which have been initiated by the local authority and the corresponding ICB
Essential experience of the Interim Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist:
• Strong experience of data analysis, and dissemination of findings with the ability to communicate complex information to analytical specialists and non-specialists
• In depth knowledge and experience of local and national NHS and social care data and other relevant data sources
• Detailed knowledge of various statistical software packages (eg. Excel, Python/R)
