Sr. Data Engineer (Remote; Canada)

The Select Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our clients team and drive the development of scalable data solutions across on-prem and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data pipeline engineering, cloud data architecture, and BI solutions, with a strong focus on Informatica, Python, and GCP. Sr. Data Engineer Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to support the continuous increase in data volume and complexity.
• Design and build data models, views, BI semantic layers, and BI assets for governed reporting and self-service data discovery and analytics.
• Engineer end-to-end data solutions on both on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
• Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
• Proactively investigates and troubleshoots technical and system problems with the database and maintenance of the database.
• Be the subject-matter expert on data infrastructure, data architecture, modeling, and optimization.

Sr. Data Engineer Required Skills
• 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Database Developer, or a similar role
• Hands-on experience with data warehouse technologies and a strong understanding of data modelling concepts
• Skilled at quickly deriving insights with large data sets and have at least 7+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases (SQL), and you will build the foundations as we move to the Google Cloud Platform
• Proficiency with the following technologies: Informatica, ORACLE, Exadata, Microsoft SQL Server, Cloud managed database, Informatica, R, Python, Tableau, Domo, etc.
• Experience working on cloud data architecture like GCP, Big Query, GCS
• You have extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of identifying requirements and building data pipeline/ data warehouse solutions & system roadmaps in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and at the same time able to collaborate with stakeholders
• Excellent analytical ability, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines promptly
