

Senior Data Analyst

CereCore is seeking a Senior Data Analyst on a consultancy basis to work with us periodically within specific data management projects. This role will support the migration of Epic Caboodle to the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM), ensuring high-quality, standardised data for research, analytics, and clinical decision-making.
This individual will play a key role in validating data transformations, ensuring data quality, and delivering insights to support clinical and research teams. They will work closely with data engineers, architects, and healthcare professionals to ensure that the data is accurate, complete, and optimised for analytics and machine learning applications.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and validate Epic Caboodle to OMOP data transformations, ensuring accuracy and clinical relevance.
• Develop interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Python to support research and clinical decision-making.
• Conduct data quality checks using OMOP Data Quality Dashboard (DQD) and SQL-based validations.
• Extract, manipulate, and interpret large-scale NHS datasets using SQL, Python, or R.
• Support clinicians, researchers, and data teams with ad-hoc data extracts, trend analysis, and research queries.
• Map Epic-specific data elements to OMOP-standardised vocabularies (SNOMED, RxNorm, LOINC).
• Ensure compliance with NHS data governance, IG regulations, and security protocols.
• Work closely with data engineers and architects to optimise data structures for analytics and machine learning.
• Provide training and support to business and clinical users, helping them access and interpret data effectively.
Requirements:
• 4+ years of experience in data analysis, healthcare informatics, or clinical data projects.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for querying Epic Caboodle, Clarity, or OMOP CDM datasets.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, Python, or R for data visualization and analysis.
• Knowledge of OMOP CDM and experience working with standardised healthcare vocabularies (SNOMED, RxNorm, LOINC).
• Understanding of NHS data governance, IG regulations, and clinical data security.
• Ability to communicate complex data findings to clinicians, researchers, and IT teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy and completeness.
Desirable Skills:
• Experience with OHDSI tools (ATLAS, Achilles, Usagi) for OMOP-based analytics.
• Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, and NHS interoperability standards.
• Background in oncology or myeloma research and experience with related datasets.
