We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Rocket Database Engineer in Columbus, Ohio. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic environment with a strong focus on optimizing and evolving Rocket Universe-based databases. The role involves close collaboration with engineering teams, product managers, and AI-assisted development tools.
Responsibilities
• Streamline database management, migration, and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to integrate modern technologies into existing Pick-based systems.
• Enhance Rocket Universe/Pick databases, focusing on performance and scalability.
• Utilize AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, and OpenAI Codex to expedite development and enhance quality.
• Design and implement data models, ensuring the creation of robust and efficient data structures.
• Drive the automation of various database-related tasks.
• Work towards the modernization of legacy systems whilst ensuring stability and performance.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Rocket Database Engineer or similar role
• Proficiency in Cloud Technologies
• Extensive experience with Database Objects
• Knowledge and experience with Informatica
• Familiarity with MapR
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with AB Testing
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and techniques
• Ability to create Business Requirement Documents
• Experience in creating Dashboards
• Familiarity with various Data Sources
• Experience working with AI products
• Knowledge of DevOps practices
• Proficiency in Query Optimization
• Experience in Schema Design
• Ability to work with Legacy Systems
• Familiarity with GitHub
• Knowledge of OpenAI
• Experience with Database Migration
• Proficiency in Database Management
