Role description

We are seeking a highly skilled Python DevOps Tools Engineer to join our team as a contractor, focused on building and automating robust tools within a modern CI/CD framework. In this role, you'll work closely with our Assurance team to design, implement, and optimize tools that ensure secure, efficient, and scalable software development practices in alignment with the Secure Software Development Framework (SSDF).

Key Responsibilities:

   • Develop Python-based tools to automate and improve CI/CD processes across development pipelines.

   • Integrate vulnerability scanning, code quality checks, and compliance validation directly into CI/CD workflows.

   • Streamline software delivery by optimizing infrastructure and tools for scalability, security, and maintainability.

   • Partner with the Product Security Assurance team to ensure tools meet security best practices and SSDF compliance.

   • Continuously evaluate and enhance tooling to improve software quality, security, and delivery speed.

   • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tools, pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

Education:

   • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Required Skills & Experience:

   • Expert-level proficiency in Python for tool and automation framework development.

   • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, with 1+ years in a technical lead role.

   • Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and optimization.

   • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools, code quality enforcement, and compliance automation.

   • Familiarity with secure development practices and standards (e.g., SSDF).

   • Solid experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).

   • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a focus on system optimization.
