Job OverviewResearch Evaluation Consulting LLC (REC) seeks a Program Evaluator with strong research and evaluation skills to support our projects. This part-time contractor position is ideal for a professional with experience in qualitative and quantitative research, data analysis, and reporting who enjoys working with mission-driven organizations. The Program Evaluator will contribute to multiple projects, supporting research design, data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role requires critical thinking, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to translate data into meaningful insights for clients.
Research and Data Collection

Design and implement program evaluations using qualitative and quantitative methods

Develop and refine data collection tools (e.g., surveys, interview guides, focus group protocols)

Conduct interviews, focus groups, and surveys with stakeholders

Perform literature reviews to support evaluation and research projects

Data Analysis and Reporting

Analyze quantitative data using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, Excel)

Conduct qualitative data coding and thematic analysis

Interpret findings and provide clear, actionable insights

Create reports and presentations that translate complex data into understandable results

Develop data visualizations to enhance reporting clarity

Client Engagement and Communication

Work collaboratively with clients to understand their evaluation needs

Communicate findings, challenges, and recommendations effectively

Assist in developing evaluation frameworks, theories of change, and logic models

Support clients in building their internal evaluation capacity

Project Coordination and Support

Assist in managing project timelines and deliverables

Provide technical support on evaluation methodologies

Work closely with REC team members to ensure high-quality work

Business Development and Operations

Cultivate and maintain client relationships

Support proposal writing for prospective clients

Build strategic partnerships with organizations that serve similar clients

Qualifications and Experience
Required

Master’s degree or higher in evaluation, psychology, sociology, public policy, education, social work, or a related field

3 – 5+ years of experience in program evaluation or applied research

Strong skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods

Proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, STATA, R) and survey tools (SurveyMonkey, Google Forms, Qualtrics)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to synthesize and simplify complex data for diverse audiences

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects

Must be U.S. citizen

Preferred

Experience working in or evaluating nonprofits, education, or social sector programs

Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Canva)

Bilingual or multilingual candidates preferred

Working Conditions and Compensation

Hours: 15-25 hours per week (flexible schedule)

Remote: Work from anywhere in the United States

Compensation: $25-$45 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Contract Position: Initial contract with potential for longer-term engagement
