Role description

Location: Bioggio, Switzerland

Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled Middleware DevOps Engineer to support and automate the deployment and configuration of middleware infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation tools, and middleware components to deliver robust, scalable, and secure environments.

Key Responsibilities:

   • Design, develop, and maintain Terraform and Ansible scripts for provisioning and configuration management.

   • Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of middleware components, including application servers (e.g., WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat).

   • Implement automation solutions for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and application deployment using GitHub workflows or similar tools.

   • Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines.

   • Ensure system reliability, security compliance, and scalability.

   • Maintain documentation of infrastructure, configurations, and processes.

   • Assist in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience:

   • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible for IaC and configuration management.

   • Proficiency in GitHub for version control and workflow automation.

   • Good knowledge and working experience with Middleware components, such as:

   • Application Servers (e.g., WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat)

   • Web servers and message brokers (a plus)

   • Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and system automation.

   • Ability to work independently and in a team within a fast-paced, agile environment.

   • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to Have:

   • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

   • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

   • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).

   • Exposure to security best practices and compliance frameworks.
