Job Title: Microsoft Power BI Developer

Location: Remote but need local to be in Virginia

Pay: $50/hr on W2

(Only US Citizens or Greencard Holders)

This Microsoft Power BI Developer job focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence (BI) solutions using Microsoft Power BI and related technologies. The role is for a Federal Government customer in Rosslyn, VA, but the position allows for remote work within the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Preparation & Modeling:
    • Identify, clean, transform, and load data into data models
    • Define relationships, cardinality, and cross-filter direction
    • Develop complex DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M (Power Query) formulas

  2. Report & Dashboard Development:
    • Create interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
    • Implement parameters, navigation, and actions for user-friendly analytics
    • Develop paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder

  3. Security & Performance Optimization:
    • Implement Row Level Security (RLS) for controlled access to reports
    • Optimize performance of new and existing data models
    • Work with data warehouses, data marts, and composite models

  4. Collaboration & Documentation:
    • Work with business users, project managers, and solution architects to understand requirements
    • Document data models, report structures, and solution designs
    • Provide training and coaching on Power BI best practices

  5. Integration & Additional Technologies:
    • Work with databases like SQL Server, Oracle, and SQL Data Warehouse
    • Use PowerApps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Dataverse for automation
    • Potentially incorporate predictive analytics using Python, R, or SAS

Required Skills & Experience
• 4+ years of BI or information management experience
• 2+ years of hands-on Power BI development, including visualization, data flows, and performance optimization
• Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data governance, and reporting methodologies
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or SAS
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder and eligible for a Public Trust Clearance

Preferred Skills
• Experience working in government IT environments
• Familiarity with PowerApps, Power Automate, and SharePoint

Clearance & Work Authorization Requirements
• Must have lived in the U.S. for the past 5 years
• Must not have been outside the U.S. for a total of 6+ months in the last 5 years
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
