Our client in the telecommunication industry is in search of a MDU Data Analyst with a strong background in GIS Mapping and property research for a long -term contract. This position is 100% remote.
Job Description:
MDU Data Analyst GIS & Property Research
Seeking a Data Analyst with a strong background in GIS mapping and property research to support the MDU sales and construction team. This role will be responsible for identifying Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs) within our build areas and gathering property management and ownership contact information. The successful candidate will help our Community Development Managers (CDMs) secure Access Agreements, ensuring our construction team has the legal authorization to build into these MDUs. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate insights effectively.
MDU Identification & Validation:
• Identify and validate Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) properties, including: Property name, address, unit count, building count, story count, occupancy type (rented vs. owned), latitude/longitude
• Research and organize property management and ownership contact information using Google and 3rd party databases like ALN and CoStar: Primary contact name, email, phone number
• Investigate property internet amenity offerings, including existing broadband providers
• Identify competitors and their service offerings within the property
• Compile and categorize provided targets for engagement with building or property owners
Strategic Property Prioritization:
• Analyze and recommend priority properties based on construction build timeline
• Identify high-value opportunities based on market trends, density, and feasibility
• Provide insights on regional variations in property availability, ownership structures, and regulatory considerations
Data Acquisition & Management:
• Manage and expand property data repository by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of property ownership and management contacts
• Ensure data integrity and quality control in GIS databases and reporting tools
Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques to develop new reports and enhance existing ones
• Generate visual reports and presentations to support sales and construction planning
• Work with internal teams to ensure data insights align with business goals
GIS & Mapping Support:
• Resolve land use, boundary, and mapping questions related to fiber build
• Utilize GIS tools to create visual representations of property opportunities
• Assess new GIS tools and applications to enhance survey and research initiatives Preferred Skill Set: Technical & Analytical Skills: o Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience with GIS software (e.g., IQGEO, ArcGIS, QGIS)
• Familiarity with property research databases (e.g., CoStar, ALN)
• Understanding of land use and geographic datasets
Research & Communication:
• Strong investigative skills in property data validation and research
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to cross-functional teams, including sales and construction teams
• Experience in preparing reports and recommendations based on data insights
Strategic & Problem-Solving Skills:
• Ability to assess and prioritize properties strategically based on business needs
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Adaptability to work across multiple markets with different regulatory and competitive landscapes
Pay Range: $45/HR. The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
