A consulting client of Next Ventures is seeking a Lead Snowflake Engineer/Architect to work with their financial services end client on a 2 year contract with possibility for extension or conversion.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and loading into Snowflake.
• Implement ETL processes using Snowflake features like Snowpipe, Streams, and Tasks.
• Design and optimize efficient data models and schemas for reporting and analytics.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data warehouse and query performance.
• Ensure data consistency and security through synchronization processes and RBAC models.
• Manage SQL performance tuning and database optimization.
• Work with AWS configurations (e.g., S3/EC2) and integrate Snowflake with third-party tools like MSK Kafka Connect and Delta Lake.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
• Strong expertise in ETL processes, SQL, Python, and Unix.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services like Glue, S3, Lambda, and Step Functions.
• In-depth knowledge of Snowflake features (e.g., Snowpipe, Streams, and Stored Procedures).
• Familiarity with Airflow for orchestrating data workflows.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, database migration, and RBAC models.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
