Lead Data Scientist

London - Hybrid

6 month contract

£650 - £750 a day outside IR35

We require a Lead Data Scientist to help our client and grow and develop their data science capability. The role will be spearheading the development of advanced Analytics through data science and artificial intelligence / machine learning techniques.

You will be responsible for....
• Proactively navigating and pinpointing areas within the organisation where advanced Analytics can provide insights or streamline operations-
• Executing all aspects of analytics initiatives including exploratory data analysis, machine learning model development, model evaluation and benefit estimation.
• Developing and delivering advanced machine learning, analytical and optimization techniques to solve business problems.
• Using and developing algorithms to deliver new optimizations and tests.
• You’ll champion and promote the use of advanced Analytics and reporting capabilities across the business.
• You’ll apply data science and machine learning methods for forecasting and streamlining processes
• Analysing data, draw meaningful conclusions, and develop solutions to help drive profitability and/or growth.

Experience Required
• Significant Data Scientist experience with comprehensive knowledge of AI, machine learning techniques and statistical modelling gained
• Ability to navigate and pinpoint areas within the organization where Analytics can provide insights or streamline operations
• Programming experience with at least one of the standard data science tools, Python (Pandas, Scikit-Learn etc), R, Scala/Spark (essential)
• Scripting languages viz. Python, Javascript. (essential)
• Snowflake (desirable) or demonstrable knowledge in other Cloud based database technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data-related services.
• Advanced Transact SQL (essential)
• ETL/ELT tools (essential) eg. Azure, Talend, Matillion
• Experience of the financial services and/or insurance industry highly desired
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for driving innovation through data.
