Role :Lead Cognos Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer

Position :Princeton NJ ( Hybrid – 3days/ week)

Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Cognos Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cognos on-prem to cloud migration (IBM Cloud), Okta and SSO integrations, Customer resource and Data Migrations. Candidate will play a crucial role in managing the transition of Cognos environments from on-premises to the cloud while ensuring seamless integration, user migration, and security protocols.

Responsibilities:

   • Lead the migration of IBM Cognos BI solutions from on-premises infrastructure to IBM cloud platforms.

   • Plan, design, and implement cloud architectures to support Cognos environments with best practices for performance, scalability, and cost optimization.

   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth migration of Cognos servers, content stores, and configuration settings.

   • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the migration process to ensure minimal downtime.

   • Configure and maintain Okta integration for secure authentication and seamless access to Cognos environments.

   • Work with security teams to enforce strong authentication mechanisms, user roles, and access controls.

   • Lead the user migration process, ensuring proper user provisioning, de-provisioning, and role mapping during cloud migration.

   • Use Terraform, CloudFormation to automate cloud resource provisioning.

   • Implement monitoring solutions to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of Cognos BI solutions in the cloud.

   • Collaborate with data teams to ensure secure and efficient data migration, including content store, reports, and dashboards.

Required Experience:

   • Minimum of 10+ years of experience working with Cognos BI and cloud migration projects.

   • Experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and automation is highly preferred.

   • Proven experience with Cognos administration, infrastructure, and deployment.

   • Strong expertise in Cognos on-prem to cloud migration strategies and implementation.

   • Hands-on experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions and Okta integration.

   • Experience with user migration, including user role assignments and data management.

   • Expertise in data migration for Cognos environments, including content store migration and report/data transfer.

   • Experience working with cloud platforms such as IBM, AWS, Azure, or GCP.

   • Strong background in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

   • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor) to ensure optimal performance in cloud environments.

   • Knowledge of database management, SQL, and scripting for migration and automation tasks.

   • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud and on-prem environments.

   • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
