Job Description:This is an onsite role for a Google BigQuery Developer. The role involves critical migration work that must be completed by the end of the year. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating complex information systems while providing technical leadership.
Responsibilities:
Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems.
Devise or modify application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements, including capacity, operating time, and response time.
Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts.
Serve in project roles such as project lead, business systems analyst, or technical lead for small to medium efforts. Manage phases of medium to large projects.
Enhance the design of current systems to improve system capabilities and meet evolving business needs.
Collaborate with business users or business systems analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Develop and implement program/system test plans and devise data verification methods.
Maintain technical skill sets for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities, and networks required for work assignments.
Prepare and maintain application design documentation.
Respond to system failures and performance issues, taking steps to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence of problems.
Conduct presentations to educate end-users on system functionality and usage.
Provide technical leadership on assigned projects or discovery efforts.
Coordinate work assignments and verify results of applications systems analysis and programming personnel.
Regularly provide guidance and training to junior analysts and programmers.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, or equivalent years of experience (one year of technical experience is equivalent to one year of college).
Experience:
3+ years of system analysis and programming experience required.
Expertise in Google BigQuery, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Python, and SAS is essential.
Experience with report writing, cube building, and analysis in Cognos is a plus.
Knowledge of Tableau, SSIS, SSRS, and Cobol is a plus.
Industry experience in health insurance is preferred.
Knowledge of IT concepts, application development methodologies, terminology, and standards.
Demonstrated ability to lead, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and resources.
Proven ability to interpret and translate technical concepts into actionable information.
Skills/Certifications:
Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
Proven ability in analysis, design, and coding, with success in leading medium-to-complex technology-based efforts.
Familiarity with BCBST’s basic business operations is preferred.
