Who is Kamma?

Kamma Data is a pioneering SaaS company at the intersection of property compliance and climate intelligence. Our cutting-edge technology empowers property professionals—letting agents, banks, and surveyors—to navigate complex licensing regulations with ease, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency. As our Finance Business Partner, you’ll be a key player in supporting both sides of the business.

Kamma is a hybrid company, offering flexibility with a 24/7 central London office available to use. While much of this role can be done remotely, we expect team members to be in the office weekly to foster collaboration and team spirit. During onboarding, there will likely be additional in-person time required to get up to speed ASAP.

What is the role?

This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of finance at a fast-moving startup. You’ll be both a strategic partner to leadership and the person rolling up your sleeves to ensure the day-to-day financial operations run smoothly. You’ll collaborate closely with teams across the business to provide financial insights, improve efficiency, and help steer our growth as well as being responsible for the daily finance tasks.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for billing, accounts payable, and preparing management accounts—there’s no finance team to delegate to. If you enjoy both high-level financial strategy and the nitty-gritty of making sure numbers are right, this role is for you.

Please note that this role is part-time (3 days a week) and the contract is 1 year in duration, and we are open to applicants working remotely in the UK.

What you’ll be doing:
• Management Accounts & Compliance: Own the monthly management accounts process end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Prepare VAT returns, support payroll processing, and liaise with HMRC.
• Billing & Cash Collection: Ensure clients are billed correctly and cash is reconciled and collected. Actively chase outstanding payments to maintain a healthy cash flow.
• Accounts Payable & Reconciliations: Process invoices, manage payments, and ensure accounts are up to date.
• Year-End Financial Statements: Work with our accountancy firm to prepare the year-end financial statements. Note - Kamma is not required to be audited.
• Board & Investor Reporting: Prepare management information and key metrics for Venture Capital investor and Board reporting.
• Budgeting: Manage the end-to-end budgeting process. You will partner directly with business leads to set and monitor the FY 25/26 budget.
• Financial Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
• Revenue & Cost Analysis: Track key financial metrics, identify trends, and collaborate with department leads to optimise budgets and resources.
• Financial Forecasting & Planning: Own cash flow management, revenue projections, and financial modelling to support sustainable growth.
• Commercial Modelling: Support the CEO and leadership with commercial modelling for new product launches or commercial proposals from time to time.
• R&D Tax Credits: Work with our R&D tax claim firm to produce our annual claim.
Your Toolkit:
• Strong analytical skills with intermediate to advanced Excel skills (INDEX, MATCH, Pivot Tables).
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
• Financial modelling skills to intermediate level.
You should apply if you:
• Have 1–2 years of post-qualification experience.
• Are comfortable owning the full finance function—from billing and reconciliations to financial strategy.
• Are a self-starter who enjoys working closely with different teams to drive financial strategy.
• Can confidently translate financial data into commercial recommendations.
• Enjoy a fast-paced environment and thrive on solving complex financial challenges.
• Are detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to build out financial processes that scale.
• You’re a stickler for accuracy and love optimising processes.
What do we offer?
• Competitive salary based on experience
• Extra time off: The office closes over the Christmas period, in addition to your holiday allowance, which increases with tenure. Plus, enjoy 2 additional charity days for causes you believe in.
• Hybrid work and great office: Flexible work-from-home options or access to our Central London office on the Strand, complete with gym facilities, showers, and communal spaces.
• Great benefits: Pension scheme, health insurance, cycle-to-work scheme, book allowance, home office budget, and more.
• An ambitious team: Join a group dedicated to making a positive impact in the property sector.
