We are working with an online marketplace looking for contract support from software engineers specifically with Elastic Search experience. You will most likely be a Python engineer who has worked on search projects in the past.

You will be migrating search technologies to elastic cloud.

Search is central to that vision, from both an inspiration and discovery perspective. The Search Engineer (software engineer) will be working with a team of Product Managers and Machine Learning Engineers, and supported by the wider business, to migrate our Search platform to ElasticSearch and create a modern search experience - leveraging AI through Computer Vision, NLP, ElasticSearch, and FastAPI to create a multi stage approach for information retrieval.

Not only do you put the customer at the heart of everything you do, but you are adept at enabling data driven decisions to design and deliver strategic projects. You will be comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, DevOps and data teams to develop our products and improve the end user experience. You should have a strong track record of successful prioritization, meeting critical deadlines and enthusiastically tackling challenges with an eye toward problem solving.

What you will accomplish:
• Migration of search technologies to Elastic Cloud
• Creation of ELK stack
• Relevance Engineering via finetuning keyword search, including BM25, Query Expansion ANN Dense Retrieval, Sparse Retrieval, Semantic Search, Entity Recognition Models
• Learning to Rank, Query Rescorers
• Creation of APIs to support integration with custom ML Models for reranking, personalization and visual merchandising
• Optimization of indexes, and experimentation with analyzers
