About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced DV-cleared DevOps Engineer to join our team in Cheltenham. This is an on-site role requiring candidates with an active UK-developed Vetting (DV) clearance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS or Azure, though expertise in both is highly desirable.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating cloud infrastructure, and ensuring system reliability and scalability. You will work closely with development, security, and operations teams to build secure, efficient, and scalable cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application development and deployment.
• Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management.
• Implement and manage containerization and orchestration solutions (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance of cloud environments.
• Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack, including cloud infrastructure, applications, and networking.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Monitor system performance, implement logging and alerting solutions, and optimize cloud resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve DevOps culture and best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Active UK DV Clearance (Developed Vetting) is a mandatory requirement.
• Strong experience with AWS or Azure (preferably both).
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, AKS).
• Knowledge of networking, security best practices, and cloud governance.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or CloudWatch.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows system administration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a high-security environment.
Desirable Skills:
• Multi-cloud expertise in AWS and Azure.
• Experience with serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
• Exposure to Zero Trust Security and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Experience working within Government or Defence sectors.
