Database Tuning Engineer
Need Immediate Joiner for 4-6 months of Contract
Senior Performance Tuning Engineer (SQL/C++) – Cisco CUIC Call Center Reporting
Location: Remote
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer to lead performance tuning and system optimization for Cisco Unified Intelligence Center (CUIC) call center reporting. This role requires deep expertise in SQL performance tuning as well as a strong command of C++ to analyze, troubleshoot, and improve both the reporting layer and its underlying data services.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Cisco contact center architecture (UCCE/UCCX), experience with complex report generation, and the ability to bridge application-level SQL optimization with low-level service behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and indexes for CUIC reports across large-scale Cisco call center environments.
• Collaborate with reporting and data architecture teams to improve report execution time and database performance.
• Investigate performance bottlenecks at the application and data integration layers; provide actionable recommendations.
• Work with C++-based backend services (e.g., PGs, CTI, Router, Logger) to debug issues affecting data availability and report latency.
• Assist in refactoring or tuning custom C++ middleware components that may affect reporting pipelines.
• Act as a subject matter expert across SQL tuning, CUIC architecture, and low-level Cisco system components.
• Develop diagnostics and performance profiling tools as needed (SQL or C++).
• Contribute to documentation, performance dashboards, and stakeholder briefings on findings and improvements.
Required Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on high-performance data systems.
• Expert-level SQL skills: tuning, indexing, query optimization, stored procedures (T-SQL or PL/SQL).
• Strong C++ development experience, particularly in high-throughput or systems-level environments.
• Prior hands-on experience with Cisco CUIC and/or Cisco UCCE/UCCX platforms.
• Solid understanding of contact center architecture and data flows.
• Experience working with large-scale relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
• Familiarity with report design concepts, real-time vs historical data sets, and call center KPIs.
Nice to Have:
• Experience with Cisco Finesse, HDS/ODS schemas, or Unified Data Server.
• Exposure to Java (CUIC backend is Java-based) or web technologies used in CUIC.
• Performance benchmarking tools and profiling frameworks (for both SQL and C++).
• Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP Collaboration, UCCE Specialist) a plus.
