Remote Database Developer (Long-Term Contract)

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Database Developer to join our team for a long-term contract position. As a Database Developer, you will work remotely on a variety of enterprise-level projects, leveraging your expertise in SQL, data conversion, and migration technologies to help shape our data infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of legacy and current technology, strong SQL development skills, and a robust knowledge of data conversion and batch processing.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop data conversion maps and execute data conversions for large data volumes from legacy to modern technologies.
• Design, implement, and enforce database coding standards to ensure consistency and quality across the database environment.
• Participate in ETL development utilizing tools like SSIS or Informatica for efficient data processing.
• Lead and manage data conversion and migration projects for large-scale enterprise-level applications.
• Collaborate in database design activities, including the development of conceptual, logical, and physical database models, and ensure these models align with organizational needs.
• Develop and maintain SQL Server-based physical database objects such as functions, stored procedures, triggers, and indexes.
• Analyze data quality and perform data analysis to ensure data integrity and consistency.
• Participate in data migration projects, transitioning data across platforms and ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
• Utilize Microsoft Azure platform services for cloud-based data management, ensuring scalability and security in cloud environments.
• Manage and contribute to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, testing, and implementation of database solutions.
• Coordinate with project teams to schedule, test, install, and implement data conversion projects in alignment with project timelines.
• Work with tools like Collibra, Informatica, Jira, Confluence, and ALM Octane to track and manage tasks and ensure efficient collaboration.

Qualifications:
• Experience as a Database Developer, with extensive experience in data conversion and migration.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and SQL Server, including the development of stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Experience with ETL tools like SSIS or Informatica to process and transform data.
• Proficiency in data analysis and ensuring data quality through best practices.
• Expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instances, and other database management technologies.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure Platform Services, and familiarity with cloud computing concepts and service delivery models.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (Jira, Confluence).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document complex technical concepts.

Preferred:
• Experience with Collibra for data governance.
• Familiarity with Jira/Confluence for project management and collaboration.
• Knowledge of Cloud Service Delivery Models such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
