Data Scientist
Location: 100% Remote
Position Type: 6-12 Month Contract with possible extension or conversion to a perm position
Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities
• Work with data engineers to build and refine datasets for mining and analysis.
• Execute data mining activities and build predictive models to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with business owners to provide context and insight from data sets.
• Deliver insights to leadership, driving strategic business decisions.
• Innovate by evaluating business processes and identifying data science solutions.
• Research, evaluate, and implement artificial intelligence algorithms.
• Ensure project alignment with reference architecture and industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot technical issues within machine learning platforms.
• Identify and capitalize on high-value machine learning business opportunities.
• Lead machine learning solutions and present findings to stakeholders.
Skills and Requirements
• 7+ years in the distribution or Healthcare industry and deep knowledge of their business practices.
• 3+ years of proven Machine Learning experience and involvement in packaged platform delivery and management
• Strong working knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (Regression, Clustering, Decision Tree, Probability Networks, Neural Networks, Bayesian models etc.)
• Experience with Machine Learning and related technologies such as Python, TensorFlow, Torch, Amazon SageMaker, Jupiter Notebooks.
• Knowledge of predictive modeling techniques such as regression, clustering, and neural networks.
• Understanding of cloud data engineering and integration concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and theoretical knowledge of math and statistics.
• Excellent communication skills for confidently addressing technical questions.
• Experience mentoring and educating junior analysts.
• Proficiency in analytical tools like R, Python, SAS, and SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
• Delivery experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Delivery of related information software solutions such as data warehouses and integration platforms
• Supply Chain and Inventory Management business knowledge experience
• Agile development skills and experience.
• Experience with retail analytical problems and solutions.
