Role Overview:

The Data Modeler is responsible for designing, developing, and managing data models that support operational, real-time, and analytical applications. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, define data modeling strategies, and deliver effective solutions. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in designing business data models (Conceptual Models) while aligning and mapping across HL7, FHIR, and IBM UDMH, with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare domain.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain data models (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical) that support various applications.
• Create optimized data designs that ensure efficiency, consistency, and minimal data duplication.
• Develop models using IBM IDA tool.
• Utilize data modeling techniques to create a common language with visual references for data relationships across business domains.
• Design and map business entities and attributes across HL7, FHIR, and IBM UDMH.
• Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and propose solutions for data cleansing and enrichment.
• Establish team operational plans, develop and implement new processes, standards, and operational roadmaps.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure timely, high-quality solutions.
• Model and fine-tune data structures for relational, columnar, and NoSQL databases.
• Perform Source-to-Target mapping across conceptual, logical, and physical models.
• Influence technical decision-making and technology adoption within the assigned domain.
• Develop solutions including data flow diagrams, process diagrams, and use case models as required.

• Qualifications & Skills Required:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data and analytical engagements, with at least 5 years in a data modeling role.
• Strong healthcare domain experience.
• Advanced knowledge of data modeling techniques, including Business Process Modeling, Entity-Relationship Modeling, Dimensional Modeling, and Data Vault methodologies.
• Implementation experience with cloud architecture patterns, particularly in GCP.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and programming languages.
• Experience with version control and collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Comprehensive knowledge of agile development methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with ERWin and IBM IDA tools.
• Demonstrated experience in modeling for real-time applications.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple locations and teams.
• Capable of delivering solutions in ambiguous scenarios with incomplete information.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
