Mid-Level Data Engineer – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Location: Indianapolis, IN

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our team at a pharmaceutical manufacturing partner's parenteral site in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will focus on downtime tracking, process monitoring automation, and data democratization. You will work closely with production teams to gather requirements, communicate effectively about the production process, and implement data-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Downtime Tracking: Develop and implement systems to track and classify downtime, providing insights to minimize production interruptions.
• Process Monitoring Automation: Automate the collection and analysis of process monitoring data to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Visual Inspection Projects: Collaborate on projects to embed AI in visual inspection processes on automated lines.
• Loss Time Tracking: Analyze and explain loss time in batch production, identifying areas for improvement.
• Equipment Tracking: Track and trace equipment tickets (EQO) to actual production batches, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Data Access and Democratization: Facilitate data access and democratization across the organization, enabling teams to make data-driven decisions.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Spend a couple of days a week working with production teams to gather requirements and understand the production process.
• Communicate intelligently about production processes and address different levels of adoption friction.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably within the pharmaceutical manufacturing or regulated industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies, including Python, SQL, and data warehousing solutions (AWS, Azure).
• BI Tools: Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI. Knowledge of Databricks is a plus.
• Manufacturing Systems: Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as Trackwise, MES (PMX/PharmaSuite), and LIMS.
• Problem Solving & Communication: Strong analytical skills, the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, and excellent communication skills to present complex insights to stakeholders.
