

Data Engineer
Compensation: $55-75/hour
Location: remote, must be located in Colorado
Position: Data Engineer
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Data Engineer to join their team!
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced data engineer to work with a modern data stack while also contributing to legacy system improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with a preference for those who have experience in the oil and gas industry. This role will focus on extracting data from third-party and cloud applications, integrating it into the company's data warehouse, and working on projects that connect to third-party data sources via APIs. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as the role will involve both modernization efforts and working with older data stacks.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to integrate data from third-party applications and cloud sources.
• Design and implement scalable data architectures that support business needs.
• Utilize orchestration tools to automate workflows and data integration.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless data flow between systems.
• Support and enhance existing legacy data systems, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and transformation.
• Experience making RESTful API calls with various third-party applications.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and data lakes, preferably Snowflake (or alternatives such as Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery).
• Experience with data transformation and modeling, preferably using dbt (or alternatives like Coalesce).
• Knowledge of orchestration and pipeline tools, preferably Airflow (or alternatives such as Dagster or Prefect).
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
• Experience with data virtualization frameworks or query federation tools such as Denodo, Trino, or Starburst.
• Familiarity with data streaming frameworks like Kafka or Event Hub.
• SQL Server BI stack experience, including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
• Ability to code data integration solutions independently when needed.
