Location: REMOTE - prefers Charlotte, NC but open to remote candidates
Compensation: 55-65/hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer for a 6- or 9-month contract to support data integration, transformation, and quality initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SSIS, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, and data quality processes. This role involves developing and optimizing ETL pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance data workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines using SSIS and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Ensure high data quality by implementing data validation, cleansing, governance, and monitoring processes.
• Work with business stakeholders and data teams to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient data models and workflows.
• Implement error handling, logging, and automated monitoring for ETL processes to ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from multiple sources while ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide documentation and production support for data solutions, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in SSIS and SQL Server development.
• 3+ years of experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data movement and transformation.
• Strong expertise in ETL development, data pipeline optimization, and data integration.
• Proficiency in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Deep understanding of data quality principles, data profiling, and governance best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database and cloud-based data solutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Python, Databricks, or Power BI is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for deployment and automation.
