About Green Project: Green Project is a SaaS-based carbon accounting and ESG data management platform, explicitly designed to support organizations earlier in their sustainability journey engage with, and improve upon, their environmental performance data. Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analytics Contractor to support our carbon accounting team in modeling greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for our clients. This position will primarily focus on a strategic decarbonization analysis. The project aims to develop comprehensive emissions reduction pathways, evaluate supply chain sustainability, and create actionable insights for stakeholder reporting and decision-making.
The contractor will play a key role in a comprehensive analysis project that includes:

Facility-level emissions scenario analysis for Scope 1 and 2 emissions
Purchased goods and services analysis for Scope 3 emissions
Development of supplier-specific emission factors
Contribution to deliverables for ESG reporting and stakeholder meetings

Responsibilities:
Working closely with our carbon accounting team, you will support data collection and analysis efforts by:

Gathering and validating activity data from clients across multiple sectors
Cleaning and standardizing complex datasets related to energy consumption and emissions
Supporting the development of emissions reduction models and decarbonization pathways
Assisting in the creation of data visualization and analysis for client presentations
Supporting project management activities including status reporting, timeline tracking, and stakeholder communications
Collaborating with the team to document methodologies and establish best practices
Supporting the preparation of deliverables for key project milestones throughout 2025

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or related quantitative field (Master's a plus)
Strong proficiency in Excel and data manipulation
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

Coursework or experience in environmental science, sustainability, or carbon accounting
Familiarity with the GHG Protocol or other environmental reporting frameworks
Experience with data visualization tools
Knowledge of financial modeling concepts
Programming experience in Python, SQL, or R
Prior experience with data cleaning and transformation
Understanding of utility data and energy markets

Compensation: $40-50 an hour. Actual hourly pay may vary based on various factors such as location, job-related knowledge, skills, level and experience. The base pay is just one component of the total competitive compensation package for employees.
Schedule: Around 20 hours per week, to be mutually agreed upon based on candidate availability and project needs.
Duration: 4-6 months, with possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. Start date: No later than March 2025
