Title: Data Analyst II
Duration: 12 months contract
Location: Washington, DC/ Onsite
Pay range: $45-50/hr on W2 (DOE)
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst to join our Data Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing data analysis support to Global Operations across the organization. Your primary focus will be on resolving privacy tasks, oncall tasks that require backfilling, tracking DDT tasks, creating bug intake forms, and deprecating stale tables.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and build documentation for data assets (pipelines and dashboards) developed by Data Engineering team
• Resolve privacy issues and implement data quality checks where applicable
• Ensure timely availability of data tables
• Deprecate tables with 0 usage or stale data and identify next tables for deprecation
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in developing ETL pipelines, modify existing databases and database management systems
• Strong SQL skills
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to Have:
• Familiarity with Client's data infrastructure and tools (e.g., Hive, Presto, Spark)
• Experience with data governance and data quality best practices
• Experience with Python programming language
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
The main function of a data analyst is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. A typical database analyst/programmer is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database.
Job Responsibilities:
• Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
• Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes.
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
Skills:
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Basic knowledge of database management software.
Education/Experience:
• Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training required.
