Job Description
• Under limited supervision, the Business Systems Analyst supports IT goals and objectives by working closely with Project Managers, IT Managers, and business stakeholders to ensure application development and implementation meets the business requirements.
• Work with internal and external off-site Project Managers, Technical Designers and Developers, and other key stakeholders to identify and document requirements and use cases in a manner that is accurate and meaningful to business and IT professionals.
• This position also demonstrates leadership in the team environment.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Must have prior DQ Business Systems Analyst experience and a proven understanding of the use case documentation process.
• Work with Project Managers and other key stakeholders (IT Managers, IT Designers and Developers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)) to develop and document requirements and use cases in a manner that is clear, accurate, meaningful, and understood by all.
• Facilitate IT and business use case walk-thru sessions.
• Mentor less experienced Business Systems Analysts; review use case documentation and provide constructive feedback.
• Must maintain a thorough understanding of DQ's business practices and the applications/systems that support them.
• Work with IT and business users to evaluate options and recommend solutions in line with IT and/or business architecture.
• Develop reusable templates and maintain Business Systems Analyst methodology.
• Prepare documentation using tools such as Visio, Word, and Excel.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
The major objective(s) of the role
• The contractor will be working to help implement & test a new claims tracking system being built from the ground up using proprietary technology.
• They will need to be able to document requirements and translate them into functional specs and then test and report on testing once it has been developed.
• They will also need to be able to train other staff on the product's use once it has been completed.
Must-Have technologies
• Expert knowledge of industry-standard healthcare EDI formats (e.g., 837s, 835, 999, etc.)
• Expert knowledge of flat files and how to create and manipulate them (e.g., CSV, .dat, .txt, etc.)
• Expert knowledge and experience of the full Microsoft Office suite
• Expert knowledge and experience with writing technical documents
• Expert knowledge and experience with testing/QA of systems and products
Must-Have Critical Skills
• Critical analysis, in order to understand, test, and report on requirements and issues
• Excellent communication, in order to effectively convey requirements, needs, and feedback and training
• Excellent organization, in order to effectively track and disseminate project-critical information
