EHR Data Analyst
Location: Remote, EST preferred
Contract: through 6/2025, will extend (based upon performance)
The position is responsible for data analysis of Electronic Health Record data including analysis of new data sets for discovery, reviewing data with stakeholders to gain sign off and acceptance, researching and tracking issues to resolution. This position requires analytical thinking to understand the current state and processes to best position our data for analytical uses. This position will serve as a subject matter expert to inform and influence decision makers.
The candidate will have access to Protected Health Information.
Responsibilities
• Data Gathering/Analysis
• Database Query Tools
• Perform data analysis to identify trends and patterns in new data domains to validate the data makes sense and make recommendations to improve data quality.
• Identify data issues and troubleshooting errors
• Able to work with little guidance as the answers are not always available.
• Preparing and presenting data content at a detailed and/or summary level to explain the issue, validate the issue, and document the resolution.
• Able to assess impact on data issues to analytical reporting solutions
• Documentation of issues and decisions to facilitate knowledge transfer
• Lead calls to review open tickets, status and managing follow-ups from other stakeholders and participants
• Develop and build relationships across teams to understand business needs and translate data insights into actionable strategies.
• Strong verbal and written communication to effectively convey complex data insights.
Skills
• 3-5 years of experience
• Demonstrate proficiency in writing complex SQL queries
• Analyze systems and technical data; troubleshoot to provide solutions
• Relational database concepts
• EHR Data Analyst experience required
• Healthcare/Hospital Industry experience required
• Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) experience needed
• Python or R ‘nice to have’
• Tableau ‘nice to have’
