About Clip Automation

Clip Automation is revolutionizing industrial automation and manufacturing operations by connecting equipment, processes, products, and people through an innovative analytics platform that provides real-time visibility and optimization for manufacturing operations teams.

Founded in 2020 by industry experts with 45+ years of experience from companies like Apple and Juul Labs, we aim to make digital transformation accessible to manufacturing organizations. To date, we have raised $1.9M in funding and secured contracts with notable enterprise clients.

Our ClipSuite platform monitors production processes and automatically identifies quality, yield, and equipment availability issues, alerting factory teams in real-time to implement changes. We connect to any station in the manufacturing process, from manual to fully automated, providing a 360-degree view of operations from site to sensor.

The Role

As a part-time (10-20 hrs/wk) Data Analyst, you’ll be crucial in transforming complex manufacturing data into actionable insights through compelling visual dashboards and reports. You’ll work closely with our engineering team and enterprise clients to understand their operational needs and develop custom visualizations that drive manufacturing excellence.

Core Responsibilities

   • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau or similar visualization tools (Power BI, Mode Analytics, Looker, etc.)

   • Transform raw manufacturing event data and equipment metrics into meaningful visualizations that highlight trends, anomalies, and opportunities

   • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific KPIs and reporting needs

   • Create custom charts and visualizations that effectively communicate complex manufacturing processes and performance metrics

   • Develop standardized reporting templates that can be adapted across different manufacturing environments

   • Ensure visualizations are optimized for performance and usability

   • Implement best practices for data visualization design and user experience

   • Document dashboard functionality and maintain visualization libraries

   • Train client teams on how to effectively use and interpret dashboards

   • Stay current with visualization trends and tools in the manufacturing analytics space

Qualifications

   • 2-5 years of experience in data visualization, data analytics, data science or related field

   • Strong proficiency with Tableau or similar visualization tools (Power BI, Mode Analytics, Looker, etc.)

   • Experience working with time-series data and real-time analytics

   • Experience with CQL, SQL and non-relational databases

   • Ability to translate complex data sets into clear, actionable visualizations

   • Knowledge of data modeling concepts and best practices

   • Previous experience at a startup is preferred

   • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

   • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders

   • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience

What We're Looking For

We need a creative and analytical thinker who can bridge the gap between raw manufacturing data and actionable business insights. You should be passionate about data storytelling and have a keen eye for design that enhances understanding. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with business acumen to create visualization solutions that drive operational improvements for our enterprise clients.

What We Offer

   • Competitive salary and equity package

   • Opportunity to work with cutting-edge IoT and manufacturing data

   • Exposure to manufacturing and industrial automation industries

   • Chance to see your visualizations drive real operational improvements

   • Remote-friendly work environment with flexible hours
