Cloud Support Engineer (Google Cloud) – Remote
6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension or Conversion)
STONE Resource Group is seeking a talented Cloud Support Engineer specializing in Google Cloud (GCP) to join our client’s Network Operations Center (NOC). This is a fully remote, 6-month contract role with the potential to extend or convert to a full-time position. About the Role:
As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will play a key role in managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing multi-tenant Google Cloud environments. You’ll ensure seamless cloud operations, automate infrastructure processes, and provide high-quality support to clients leveraging GCP services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage & support multi-tenant Google Cloud environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot & optimize Compute Engine, Kubernetes (GKE), Cloud Run, and other GCP services.
• Ensure compliance with SLAs by maintaining uptime, resolving incidents promptly, and implementing proactive monitoring solutions.
• Automate cloud operations using Terraform, Python, and Bash scripting.
• Implement security best practices for IAM, firewall policies, and networking within GCP VPCs and hybrid cloud environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for cloud migrations, deployments, and performance tuning.
• Work with clients to understand cloud requirements and recommend best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure timely resolution of critical incidents.
• Develop technical documentation and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 4+ years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, system administration, or DevOps.
• 3-5 years of experience in cloud engineering, system administration, or DevOps roles.
• Hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Google Cloud services, including Compute Engine, IAM, Cloud Storage, VPC networking, and Kubernetes (GKE).
• Proficiency in automation using Terraform, Python, or Bash scripting.
• Strong understanding of Linux and Windows environments, including OS-level troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with monitoring & logging tools such as Google Cloud Operations Suite (Stackdriver).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and hybrid cloud architectures.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Google Cloud Certification (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect).
• Experience in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
