Contract Cloud Solutions Architect

Location: Remote / UK-based

Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35)

Duration: Initially 3 months (with potential extension)

Rate: Up to £550.00 per day

Overview:

We’re seeking a seasoned Cloud Solutions Architect to lead a large-scale on-prem to cloud transformation and data centre migration for a public sector organisation. This role involves defining Azure Landing Zone high-level designs, facilitating discovery workshops, and owning the cloud architecture strategy from planning through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

   • Lead and facilitate discovery workshops to capture business, technical, and security requirements.

   • Define and deliver high-level Azure Landing Zone architecture and governance frameworks.

   • Architect secure, scalable solutions to support the migration from on-premises data centres to Microsoft Azure.

   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design networking, security, and identity solutions that meet public sector standards.

Essential Skills & Experience:

   • Proven experience delivering cloud transformation and migration programmes in the public sector.

   • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, including Landing Zone strategy and implementation.

   • Strong understanding of data centre migrations and hybrid/cloud architectures.

   • Excellent facilitation skills, with experience leading discovery and architecture workshops.

   • Familiarity with public sector governance and security requirements.

Desirable:

   • Strong understanding of networking principles in cloud and hybrid environments.

   • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in a multi-cloud or comparative context.

   • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep).

   • Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-305, AZ-500) or equivalent.

The start date for this Contract is scheduled for the 6th of May.
