About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Data Engineer (Subject Matter Expert - SME) to play a critical role in shaping our clients cloud data strategy for a leading Financial Services client.
This is more than just a technical role—you will be the go-to AWS Data expert, engaging with C-suite and board-level stakeholders, driving strategic cloud initiatives, and optimizing large-scale data engineering and DevOps solutions.

Key Responsibilities
• Act as an AWS SME, influencing board-level discussions and guiding executive decisions on cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and data strategy
• Design, build, and optimize AWS serverless and DevOps solutions with a focus on scalability, security, and automation
• Develop and maintain high-performance data pipelines for ingestion, mastering, management, and distribution of large financial datasets
• Implement Terraform / CloudFormation to drive automated, scalable infrastructure
• Lead the design and optimization of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.) for efficient deployments
• Architect solutions using AWS services including IAM, Step Functions, Glue, Lambda, RDS (DynamoDB, Aurora Postgres), SQS, API Gateway, and Athena
• Work closely with business leaders, technology teams, and financial services executives to align cloud and data strategies with corporate goals
• Ensure financial data security and regulatory compliance for cloud-based data architectures
What We’re Looking For
• SME-level expertise in AWS cloud engineering and data architecture
• 5+ years in a lead or senior AWS Data Engineering / DevOps role within Financial Services
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation) and AWS security best practices
• Proven ability to engage and influence C-suite executives and board-level stakeholders
• Experience leading large-scale data transformation projects in highly regulated environments
• Expert knowledge of NoSQL & Relational Databases and experience working with financial datasets
