Business Intelligence Developer
Are you a talented and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Developer who is immediately available for a 3 month contract?
You will be designing and developing best in class BI solutions including reports, dashboards, and data models. Excellent communication skills are required - you will be engaging with business stakeholders to ensure that data insights are effectively presented and meet business needs.
Scope
• BI Solution Development: Design, develop, and implement BI reports, dashboards, and data visualisations that align with business requirements and provide actionable insights.
• Data Integration: Work on extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources to ensure accurate and timely availability of information.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Partner with business users to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• System Optimisation: Monitor and optimise BI systems for performance and scalability, ensuring that reporting tools are both responsive and reliable.
• Documentation: Document BI solutions, processes, and workflows to ensure consistency and ease of maintenance.
• Support & Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting issues with reports and dashboards.
Expertise Required
• Strong proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SSRS etc.) for creating reports and dashboards.
• Experience with cloud-based BI platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Solid experience with SQL for data extraction, analysis, and query optimisation.
• Proficient in TSQL, DAX, Power Query
• Experience with ETL processes and data integration techniques (e.g. SSIS)
• Strong understanding of data modelling concepts and database design principles.
• Ability to analyse large datasets and present complex findings in an understandable format.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Technical
• Cloud-based BI solutions - Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
• Experience with programming languages - Python or R for data manipulation.
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies - Hadoop or Spark
• data governance, security practices, and compliance standards.
• Certifications (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) are well regarded.
Location: Hybrid / 1 day each week onsite in Leicester (typically a Wednesday)
Engagement: Outside IR35
Timeline: Early April start for 3 months
