

BI Engineer (Tableau - Remote - 6 Month Contract)
Location: Remote (Anywhere within the United States)
Start Date: April 15th, 2025 (Tentative)
Duration: 6 months
A professional medical society is looking to add a BI Engineer.
The Data Visualization Specialist will contribute compelling graphics, charts, and multimedia visuals to enhance print and digital content.
Job Responsibilities
• Creating and editing visual content including illustrative box plots, charts, and graphs, etc
• Transforming data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals using necessary calculations.
• Utilize statistical software and tools to conduct data analyses and support the development of interactive reports based on the data.
• Integrate Tableau server and reports with APIs, single sign-on, or other applications such as R or Python for predictive analytics and real-time data reporting.
• Providing visual, technical, and editorial guidance.
• Working closely with the application and data team to help promote content including reports, briefs, commentary, and visual data.
• Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. S/he will work remotely in collaboration with ACR’s Data Analyst and support design projects ranging from charts and graphs to maps and tables.
• Participate in defining best practices around report development, testing, access management, and report refresh scheduling.
• Documenting various processes, workflows, and functionality
This role requires an independent self-starter with a strong affinity for numbers and quantitative data. An interest in healthcare and healthcare data. Familiarity with visual journalism would also be helpful.
Required Skills
• 5+ years of experience
• A degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in Statistics, or Statistical analysis or have researched in the appropriate field of specialization.
• Ability to perform complex statistical modeling independently.
• Knowledge of Statistical Reporting is required.
• Experience with Python.
• Tableau certification.
• Excellent visual skills, including demonstrable design knowledge, such as layout, typography, color, interaction design, and fluency with Tableau tools.
• Knowledge of Tableau Extensions and API.
• Advanced ability to draw insights from data and communicate them to the stakeholders and senior management as required.
• Experience working with AWS big data technologies (Data Lake, S3, Redshift, Athena).
• Strong understanding of database schemas and querying tools.
• Experience with SQL, Stored Procedures & writing complex queries.
• Experience working with different Tableau platforms.
• Experience with HIPAA-regulated data.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and flexibility to change priorities when needed.
• Must be eligible to work with the US without sponsorship or visa transfer
